SafeStairway maximizes homeowner safety by including features designed to reduce accidents.
Stairway Layout
- SafeStairway rises at a comfortable 45 to 50 degree angle
- Steps are 11 inches deep and have a nonskid tread for firm footing
- A full-length railing provides support; a second railing option is also available
Actuator-Driven
- A powerful actuator smoothly lifts and lowers the stairway, eliminating the need for pull-down cords, pulleys, or spring-loaded mechanisms
- Momentary key activation (with removable key) prevents unwanted use by unauthorized individuals or children
- An optional battery backup operates the stairway in case of an electrical outage
- Sized for the weight of the stairway, the actuator will not activate if someone is standing on the steps
Additional Safety Accessories
- A smoke-resistant external seal meets state fire code for garage installations
- Lighting package illuminates steps
- Motion-alarm package includes spotlights that illuminate the stairway landing zone so that obstructions can be removed before the ladder is lowered
